William Clark
I am first and foremost an artist, and I have been since I was old enough to hold a crayon. When I was in kindergarten, I would stay inside from recess to draw and colour. As I got older, my parents decided to enroll me in private art lessons, where I learned the basics of paint and pencil. My Pake (grandfather) is a wood carver, and I would take lessons from him as well. As a child I was fortunate enough to travel all over the world, learning about different cultures and their artistic heritage. I attended highschool at East Northumberland S.S., where I was introduced to digital media, graphic design, and a wide variety of other medias and styles of art. I then lived in Thunder Bay for a few years, studying Fine Art at Lakehead University, where I learned about printmaking, pottery, and art history. After coming back to Southern Ontario, I studied architecture at Loyalist College in Belleville for a brief period. I am currently taking the Independent Illustration course at Seneca College in Toronto, where my professors are teaching me to take everything I have learned and apply it to the real world. My plans for the future are to work hard with my art, putting all of my skill into every job I can get. As for my goals in life, I have two: to complete and publish a graphic novel of my own, and to have my own studio, where I can teach others everything I have learned, and have yet to learn.
