Suzanne Jacobs

Graduate of Ontario College of Art 1970 in Material Arts. I moved to the Gaspe where I enjoyed working in different media while raising my family. Moving back to Aylmer Quebec I decided to pursue watercolour painting. I was a student at the Ottawa School of Art in 1993 where I took a watercolour course under the direction of Morton Baslaw a veteran instructor on the faculty of the Ottawa School of Art and founding president of the Ottawa Watercolour Society. I appreciated his style of painting and found him to be a wonderful teacher. I am a previous member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society 1994 when I exhibited in two juried exhibitions. I now live in the lower Laurentians and enjoy mainly watercolour painting (some acrylic) gardening and a rural lifestyle. I have exhibited in some local shows in Gatineau and sell pieces by word of mouth. I do landscapes, still lifes and flowers and enjoy the play of light and shadow and the patterns created in nature. I enjoy the challenge of the occasional portrait.
