This piece was created to highlight the nationalities of many Canadians and to demonstrate that Canada is a mix of many cultures. The cultures of many immigrants have been incorporated into Canada's culture and identity to form a unique Canadian cultural mosaic. In the drawing, the two hands are different colours but are united under a single maple leaf. Although the colour of one's skin is not important, in the piece it displays how immigrants from different countries can all consider themselves Canadian. To me, being Canadian is not only considering myself a citizen of Canada but also embracing my cultural heritage and ethnicity. We may have different customs but we all share a common flag and love the same country. Canada is not just the place I was born in but the place I consider my home.
