This self portrait borrows the composition from one of Frans Hals the Elder (c. 1582 – 1666), however, I included the shadow of a window that is modeled as one of Johannes Vermeer's. Specifically the one he used in "Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window" that is at the Gemäldegalerie in Dresden.
